Thanks so much for following along. From your feedback, I’ve realized that what people crave most isn’t another polished highlight reel. It’s honesty. Real truths. Life isn’t amazing 100% of the time, no matter what perfect profiles on social media might suggest.
I was having lunch with my husband recently, and we were talking about this. Remember The Truman Show or newer shows like Paradise? They create these flawless, problem-free worlds, and of course, they don’t work. Because what is life if every single day is exactly the same? Without contrast, we lose the ability to appreciate what’s good. We need the storms to recognize the sunshine.
So I’ve made a choice: I’m going to keep talking about the parts of life most people avoid. The imperfections, the struggles, the messy truths. I’m not perfect, never will be. I’ve made mistakes and decisions I’m not proud of. But isn’t that all of us?
The last six weeks have carried more stress than I imagined possible. I can’t share details right now because it isn’t only my story to tell; maybe one day I can. But I can tell you this: Life right now is not easy, and it won’t be for a while. And that’s okay. Because life was never meant to be perfect.
When we look at some of the world’s most successful people, what stands out isn’t the absence of struggle, but how they transformed it. Oprah Winfrey overcame poverty and abuse to become one of the most influential women in media. Steve Jobs was fired from the very company he founded before returning to lead Apple into greatness. J.K. Rowling went from a single mother on welfare to the best-selling author of our time. Nelson Mandela endured 27 years in prison before becoming a global symbol of justice and reconciliation.
Their stories remind us: challenges aren’t roadblocks, they’re training grounds for resilience, creativity, and character. Hardship may feel like it’s breaking us, but often it’s shaping us into who we’re meant to be.
So take a moment to reflect: What challenges in your own life might actually be preparing you for your next breakthrough? Instead of asking “Why me?”, try asking, “What is this teaching me?” You may find that the very thing testing you today is laying the foundation for your success tomorrow.
I’d love to hear your story of how you used a major challenge to positively affect your life or move you to the next breakthrough.
